ELIXIR session hours at banks
Until when each bank takes orders for every session, and from when it books the incoming transfers of that session. Unmarked rows come from the banks' own pages; hours marked unconfirmed come from the bank's document or from other sites.

A dash means the bank doesn't publish that time on its page. "By" before a booking time: the bank says by when it books the transfers of that session, not from when.
"Unconfirmed": the script doesn't check these hours every week. They come from the bank's document, read once, or from other sites when several gave the same hours. Check them with your bank before an important transfer.
A script checks the unmarked hours on the banks' pages every week. If a bank's hours can't be confirmed for more than 21 days, the calculator treats them as unknown.
KIR's session schedule
KIR settles ELIXIR transfers on business days, in 3 sessions. A bank has to pass its orders before the session closes, and gets the results after settlement at NBP.
Session | Orders by | Settlement at NBP | Results from |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 09:30 | 10:30–11:00 | 11:00 |
| 2 | 13:30 | 14:30–15:00 | 15:00 |

What is an ELIXIR session?
ELIXIR is the system run by Krajowa Izba Rozliczeniowa (KIR) that carries ordinary złoty transfers between different banks. KIR doesn't pass them on one by one but in batches: 3 sessions every business day. Your bank collects its customers' orders and sends them in the next session, and the recipient's bank books the money once it gets that session's results.
A transfer sent in the evening or on a Friday: when does it arrive?
At the banks in our table the last outgoing session closes between 13:25 and 15:30. A transfer ordered later waits for the first session of the next business day. So one sent on Friday evening arrives on Monday, after the first session.
Do transfers arrive at weekends and on holidays?
Ordinary ones don't. KIR settles Monday to Friday, except public holidays, and the year's last settlement day has no final session. An order placed on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday goes out in the first session of the next business day.
How can I send money faster?
An instant transfer and a BLIK transfer to a phone number don't wait for ELIXIR sessions: the money arrives straight away, in the evening and at weekends too. Not every recipient's bank accepts them, and a bank may charge for an instant transfer. The details are in your bank's price list and terms.
Why is the time an estimate?
We work from the hours that banks and KIR publish on their own pages. A bank may book a transfer later, for example when it runs an extra check. Some banks publish only the time of their last session: then we show the latest the money can arrive. When the recipient's bank doesn't publish its booking hours, we show when KIR hands it the session's results: the money can't arrive earlier. Hours the script can't confirm on the bank's page are marked unconfirmed: check them with your bank.
Common questions
How long does a transfer between banks take?
If you send an ordinary transfer on a business day before your bank's last session, the money is in the recipient's account the same day, after the next session. Sent later, at the weekend or on a holiday, it arrives on the next business day. Check the time for your banks at the top of the page.
By what time do I have to send a transfer for it to arrive today?
Before the sending bank's last outgoing session. At the banks in our table it closes between 13:25 and 15:30; your bank's time is in the table.
How many ELIXIR sessions are there in a day?
KIR holds 3 sessions every business day. It hands the results of the last one to the banks from 17:30, and each bank books them at its own time, shown in the table.
Does a transfer within the same bank wait for a session too?
No. A transfer between accounts at one bank doesn't go through ELIXIR, so sessions don't apply. When the bank books it is set out in its own terms.
Where do the hours come from, and are they up to date?
Banks' hours come from their own pages, and the session schedule from KIR's page. Every week a script checks these pages again, and the date of the last confirmation is shown next to the bank. If a bank's hours can't be confirmed for more than 21 days, the calculator treats them as unknown. A few banks don't publish their hours in a way the script can read: we read theirs from the bank's document, or took them from other sites when several gave the same hours. Those banks are marked unconfirmed, with the date the hours were read: check them with your bank before an important transfer.
This is an estimate from the hours banks and KIR publish on their own pages, and for banks marked unconfirmed, from the bank's document or other sites. A bank may book the transfer later, for example when it runs an extra check.
