Methodology
This is how we compare brokers in Poland: the same rules for everyone, with no influence from partners.

Independence
We calculate costs and scores from data, the same way for every broker. Partnerships and ads don't change the order, the scores or the calculated costs, and there are no paid places in the ranking results.
Annual cost
We calculate what you'd pay the broker in the first year for a specific way of investing: order commissions, currency conversion, custody and account fees. We apply the fee schedule in force on the day, including minimum commissions and thresholds.
To score the cost we use typical scenarios:

The cost score depends on how much of the money paid in during the year goes on fees: the smaller the share, the more points. The bands are fixed, so a new broker in the comparison doesn’t change anyone else’s score. A scenario on a market the broker doesn’t offer doesn’t apply to it. When the cost is unknown, the scenario earns no points.
In the ranking you can set your own scenario: amount, deposit currency, frequency and instruments. We then calculate the cost the same way.
What makes up the Broksy Score
The Broksy Score is one score for everyone. It is made of blocks with fixed weights, and each block asks simple questions every broker has an answer to. Only an answer confirmed by a source earns points.
- Cost
- Yearly cost in typical scenarios: commissions, currency conversion, custody and account fees.
- 35%
- Taxes
- Whether the broker issues PIT-8C, gives an annual report or a trade export, and lets you sign W-8BEN online.
- 25%
- IKE and IKZE
- Whether there is an IKE, an IKZE, and whether they can hold foreign ETFs.
- 20%
- Markets and convenience
- Access to GPW and foreign exchanges, an account in złoty, support in Polish, fast deposits, a regular investing plan, fractional shares.
- 15%
- Safety
- Guarantee of the cash on the account. The licence and investor protection are a condition for a score, not points.
- 5%
Themed rankings are the same score: you filter brokers or sort by one block, for example by IKE and IKZE.

Data rules
- A broker gets a score when a source confirms both its licence from an EU supervisor and its investor compensation scheme. The others are shown separately.
- No data isn’t “no”. When we don’t know something, we say “no data”. In the score such a question earns no points until a source confirms it, and the score shows how many answers are confirmed.
- Every value has a source and a check date. Data checked more than 90 days ago is flagged and re-checked.
- We use brokers' own documents (fee schedules, terms) and regulators' registers. We keep a copy of every document in our archive.
- Spotted an error? Write to us and we'll fix the data and log the change.
