How we calculate
- You pay in at the start of every month, and each payment is one buy order. The commission and currency conversion from the broker's price list come out of the payment.
- The value grows by the assumed return, added monthly, in złoty. We don't model exchange rate moves or dividend payouts (an accumulating fund).
- Custody and account fees are charged as the broker's price list says, on the average value over the fee's period.
- At the end you sell everything in one order, with the commission and conversion back to złoty.
- Tax depends on the account. On a regular account you pay tax on the gain, on IKE nothing when you withdraw as the law provides, on IKZE tax on the whole payout.
- IKE and IKZE get payments up to the yearly limit, the rest goes to a regular account at the same broker. With both accounts, IKZE is filled first, then IKE. The IKZE tax refund arrives in April of the next year and goes to the regular account.
- The amount in today's money is the result reduced by the assumed inflation for every year of the plan.
- Without an age we assume a payout within the rules. With your age we check whether at the end of the plan you have the required age and payments in enough years; if not, we calculate an early withdrawal (zwrot) with its tax.
- The IKZE tax refund assumes you have taxable income that year of at least the payment. With the flat-rate tax we use the higher IKZE limit for the self-employed.
- The plan starts this month. IKE and IKZE limits, the tax refund and the years with payments run by calendar year: this year's limit covers the months left in it, and a new one starts in January.

Frequently asked questions
How does compound interest work in investing?
Gains are added to your capital and earn in the years after. An example from the calculator: 1,000 zł a month for 20 years at a return of 5% a year is 240,000 zł paid in and 396,105 zł of value before selling.
What do I keep after Belka tax?
On a regular account you pay 19% tax on the gain when you sell. In this example at XTB the tax is 29,284 zł and you keep 364,841 zł.
Is IKE worth it?
On IKE you pay no tax on the gain if you withdraw once you are 60 years old, with payments in at least 5 calendar years. The same plan at XTB on IKE leaves 394,125 zł, which is 29,284 zł more than a regular account.
Can I pay more than the limit into IKE and IKZE?
No. In 2026 the limit is 28,260 zł for IKE and 11,304 zł for IKZE, and the institution returns any overpayment. The limits are separate, so you can have both accounts and pay in 39,564 zł together. The calculator sends the excess to a regular account.
How much do broker fees take?
It depends on the broker. In this plan you keep between 361,177 zł and 367,091 zł depending on the broker: a difference of 5,914 zł. We count commissions, currency conversion, custody and selling from the price lists.
Does the calculator account for inflation?
Yes. The result is also shown in today's money: at inflation of 3.0% a year, 364,841 zł in 20 years is about 202,004 zł today.
